My family and I moved to Albany in 2001 for the schools, and I would like to do what I can to maintain their excellence.

I've served on the board of Albany SchoolCARE and volunteered extensively in the schools, from my daughters' first days in Maggie Shepherd's kindergarten class at Marin, to musical theater productions at both AMS and Albany High.

I've taught at three universities, but regard education as a life-long activity, that can and should be practiced anywhere. As a technologist, I would like to help the District recognize new opportunities, such as online classes from universities to supplement and complement high school courses – to look outward, for partners in other schools, and for new resources, worldwide. I have experience as a federal grant writer, and hope to see AUSD take advantage of programs funding STEM education and other areas of national interest.

I've been active in our community, including two years coaching in the Albany Berkeley Girls Softball League (ABGSL), and volunteering with the Girl Scouts.

AUSD is a wonderful collaboration of dedicated teachers and administrators, committed parents, and inquisitive kids, and I'd like to do what I can to further that.
